What is the best time to prepare for a disaster?

Well, the answer is simple “BEFORE IT TAKES PLACE”!

Anyone who’s been there realizes the benefits of being the most prepared on the block.

The good news is that you have the solution at your fingertips. One of the things that most of us carry at all times is our phones, so why don’t we make them smarter?

Your phones can do much more than just checking emails, texting, and taking those selfies. They can be more than useful in an emergency situation as well!

If you watch this video, you will realize that how the solution is implemented in Japan by one of our customers!

It’s a combination of a one-touch SOS device (CallOut) and MyCooey platform.

It’s not that you’ll use it every day. But when you’re caught in a precarious situation, getting a word out could be a lifesaver.

In an emergency situation, a short press on the CallOut device connects you to a pre-set SOS contact configured in the system, and it’s smart enough to locate you via GPS when you send an SOS.

AnyCare Japan has implemented MyCooey platform and one-click SOS device to help the user reach out to a caregiver / family member in emergency situations.

In the video, you will see how the CallOut device provides the user a one-touch connection to a callcenter operator in the event of an emergency. The callcenter operator who has access to the user’s profile in MyCooey portal analyzes the activities of the user and informs the caregiver / family member accordingly to take further action.

The one-touch CallOut device has a built-in speaker phone to enable two-way communication from wherever you are. In addition to the callcenter connection, the device is GPS enabled and integrated with the MyCooey service platform for automatic transmission of alert to the caregiver and the family member. The family member / caregiver is notified as soon as the user leaves the geofence configured in the portal.

The geofencing capability combines the awareness of the user's current location with awareness of the user's proximity to locations that may be of interest. To mark a location of interest, the admin can specify its latitude and longitude in MyCooey portal settings depending upon the requirement.

The push button on the CallOut can be used by the user in in two ways. While a short press initiates a call to the number that is configured in the user’s profile, a long press activates a “call back” from the number that is configured (it could be the caretaker or the family member).

While there may not be a one-size-fits-all method to solve your emergency situations, with adequate preparedness with the help of proper tools, such situations can be a little easier to handle.

Ever since John McCarthy coined this idea about 6 decades ago, artificial intelligence (AI) is fast being regarded as the go to technology for augmenting engagement levels at the touch of a button.

Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana are just a few examples of voice-powered personal assistants that help you interact with a platform or a device to get your routine tasks done.

From these virtual assistants to self-driving vehicles, AI & machine learning is slowly but steadily making their way into our lives.

Are you being told that AI is the future? Might be true. But there are innovative start-ups that uses matured AI aspects practically today as well.

All healthcare providers should be getting used to this term now (if they’re not already), because AI will have a profound impact on their business decisions in the days to come.

While it might seem ridiculously simple, you can actually apply this concept or principle in…

What’s that one thing that would make caregivers’ day more satisfying?

More often than not, the answer to this question would revolve around figuring out ways to make the lives of the ones, who they care for, more comfortable.

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, caregiver jobs are projected to grow 69% by 2020, much faster than the average job, thanks to the aging of the baby boomers and increase in non-face-to-face services provided by physician or other qualified healthcare provider.

A caregiver is someone who offers enormous social worth by caring for loved ones and unfailingly assumes the responsibility for health or safety of their clients / residents.

And as residents, nothing can be more satisfying than be in a space where their care needs are taken care of without having to ask for it.

To provide good care, caregivers must have a plan to support the needs, preferences, and interests of their residents/clients.

Caregivers have to be there to make sure their clients get up…
